Spain election: Socialists win amid far-right breakthrough

Source: BBC

Spain's ruling Socialists are on course to be the biggest party in the third election in four years, but have fallen short of a majority.

For the first time since military rule ended in the 1970s, a far-right party is set to enter parliament.
...
According to the results the Socialists are set to win 123 seats while their former coalition partner Podemos would have 42.

That would leave the two parties short of the necessary 176 for a majority, and requiring the support of Catalan pro-independence parties and Basque nationalists. Mr Sánchez had to call the election when Catalan MPs withdrew their support last month.

The poser no doubt thought no one would bother checking.

But more importantly, his neo-Francoist Popular Party lost over half its seats (from 135, down to 65). Coño!

Thanks for posting these news, volestrangler.

Former Prime Minister Rajoy was discovered to have had a big Swiss bank account tax free with money he scammed. Other party leaders were found to be corrupt as well. The PP was working for the wealthy neoliberals.
