Exclusive: Rep. Greg Pence amends filing that showed lodging charge at Trump hotel

Source: USA Today

WASHINGTON – Greg Pence, a freshman congressman and brother of Vice President Mike Pence, reported spending more than $7,600 in campaign funds on lodging at the Trump International Hotel in the first few months after his election in November, although lawmakers are supposed to pay for their own housing in Washington.

After USA TODAY asked about the expenses included on his Federal Election Commission disclosure reports, Pence’s spokesman, Kyle Robertson, declined to say whether the Indiana Republican stayed at the hotel before getting an apartment in Washington.

Hours after USA TODAY pressed for more detail on the nature of the lodging expenses, the campaign filed an amended FEC report that changed the designation of the expenses to "fundraising event costs."

Federal election rules allow campaign funds to be spent on hotels for fundraising events. And Pence separately reported more than $15,000 in catering and reception costs at Trump’s hotel in December and January.

He has an extended stay in a ritzy DC hotel on the campaign dime, calling it lodging initially, but then changed (when questioned about) it to say it was for 'fundraising events'?

Uh-huh.

Fundraising for WHO? Yourself? Or Trump 2020? Pretty sure legally it has to be for yourself.

So lets see that list of the DC fundraiser(s) you were supposedly holding 2 months into your term, hey, Greg? Got some invites? Some emails talking about them, even?

Betcha got nothin.

The GOP believes in "keeping it in the family" so I guess the Pence family takes that literally. I thought that GOD frowns upon stealing from and cheating others. Is this the same religion and GOD which guides him at all times and he constantly refers to?

at Mike's (government funded) place? Is he gay? That would be a reason for Mike to refuse to house him. What is wrong with these voters who elect corrupt representatives? These people see all the perks their family members get while "working" for the taxpayers (yeah, right) then jump on to the bandwagon, with their hands out.
