Boris Johnson Wins First Ballot

Boris Johnson has secured the highest number of votes in the first ballot to select the Conservative party leader and next British prime minister, the BBC reports.

Johnson received 114 votes, Jeremy Hunt was second with 43, and Michael Gove third with 37 votes.

I guess he and Trump might get along well. Britain will leave the EU and maybe join the US and Russia under Putin's control. And then North Korea next

Theresa May formally stepped aside as leader of the Conservative Party on June 7, allowing the contest to replace her.

The actual makeup of Parliament isn’t changing, and the Conservatives will retain control of government.

The next prime minister will come from the Conservatives (or Tories, as they’re called)

considered as the new Prime minister? Is that because the Conservative Party has the most member in Parliament; 312 of 650 seats? UK citizens don't actually get to vote directly for a new PM? Seems a bit unfair.
