The Senate could very quickly address this and other egregious power grabs, except that McConnell will not allow it. I do not doubt that other GOP members would support Barr et al but some do not. Since no one can discuss or question such actions in the Senate committees no oversight actually functions in Congress.

The lede representing this interview is much more definitive than Barr's much more tentative quote: “an opportunity potentially to cure the lack of clarity that was the problem and we might as well take a shot at doing that.” It seems they are still trying to work within the Supreme Court's ruling rather than trying to pull an executive order end run, a clear violation of the rule of law. Interesting to see whether Roberts can be intimidated by political pressure.
