Trump Administration to Divert Over $40 Million From Central America Aid to Venezuela's Opposition

The Trump administration plans to divert more than $40 million in humanitarian aid meant for Central America to instead support the U.S. backed opposition in Venezuela, according to a document obtained Tuesday by The Los Angeles Times. The $41.9 million had been designated for Guatemala and Honduras, two Central American countries at the center of the United States’ immigration influx. Instead, the money will be used for salaries, travel, communications equipment, technical assistance, and other needs for the Venezuelan opposition, according to a congressional notification from the U.S. Agency for International Development. The July 11 memo comes after the State Department announced in June that it would slash hundreds of millions of dollars of aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras after Trump said the three countries were not doing enough to stem migration.

I know South America well, I know Venezuela and its political situation well. Do they need help? Yes, of course they do, but not money, although I don't know the conditions set forth about that gift, but one thing I can tell you is that if the money does not go to the right "opposition", that money will go into some corrupt figures of the so called Venezuelan Opposition" who have been in cahoots with the regime pretending to help the country.

Because the USA administration is so corrupt, I have my doubts the money will land in good hands. Also, the fact that Russia IS in Venezuela, I have to wonder if Putin is not in this too.

It would be real help if USA went in with troops and got rid of the regime, then pull out, I believe it would cost about the same, most probably more, but it would resolve the problems Venezuela is facing, and this time the USA WOULD be greeted as liberators, but sending money will just be a waste while affecting the Central American countries, although I don't know in whose hands that money has been landing on either.

Unfortunately, Latin American countries are extremely corrupt, aid never goes to the people who really needed, otherwise those countries would be jewels by now.

They will be fighting against Russian troops as well as Venezuelan troops. I seriously doubt Traitor Trump will be willing to piss off Putin.

Traitor Trump is just paying off some of his buddies in Venezuela with our tax dollars.
