Redistricting delays prompt Arizona election bill

Arizona legislators are acting quickly on legislation on a subject near and dear to them -- elections.

A bill pushed through the Senate during the session's first three days provides congressional candidates with flexibility in their collection of voter signatures on nominating petitions.

The bill was requested by state election officials and is a result of delays in approval new congressional and legislative districts.

It allows congressional candidates to collect signatures from voters in current districts or approved new districts.
