In Awesome Twist, GoFundMe Border Wall Spills Into Mexico

A private border wall construction project lauded by Trumpers nationwide is actually partially on Mexican soil, Mexican government engineers alleged in photos their American counterparts shared with the builders this month.

Tempting an international incident, the border wall group isn’t budging.

Instead, they’ve moved to attack mode, with their founder calling the binational body that governs the border “50% OWNED by MEXICO” and “UN like” — fighting words, among private border wall fundraisers.

Brian Kolfage, whose group “We Build The Wall” has raised a whopping $25 million for border wall construction on GoFundMe, estimated that the “boulders” from his wall project currently on the Mexican side of the border weighed around two hundred pounds each.

His contractor has refused to move them, he said.

Kolfage, characteristically, blasted the gate dispute across social media and urged his hundreds of thousands of donors and followers to urge the commission to do the right thing. Now, the gate is locked closed at night and open during the day as negotiations continue.

Kolfage claimed the landowner in Mexico next to the private wall is fine with the new boulders on his property: He “doesn’t have a problem with the rocks being there at all,” Kolfage said.

Spener, the IBWC foreign affairs officer, was unimpressed.

“The concern about the encroachments was brought to our attention by the Mexican government,” she wrote, “which is the entity we deal with.”

Hey Kolfage, doesn't your fascist Fisher crew know how to use a simple map........................

Has anyone else seen We Build The Wall ads on DU? I can't imagine they're getting too many donors from this crew.

but I don’t imagine that’s what they’re looking for.

I don’t think ads based on key words are a good idea for the site. I once saw an article during the early days of ISIS, when the reports about beheadings and sexual slavery were coming out. The article had the words ‘Islam’ and ‘Islamists’ sprinkled in it. And under that scary article was and ad for a Muslim dating site.

i have lived in Mx since 1997. (it's a hell of a lot cheaper). The last time I got a permisso was a little over 2 years ago and it was only good for 6 months. I had not been back to the border since then and since that is the only place to get a permisso I didn't renew it. I have lived off and on with a permisso for the last 20+ years. I got the last one when I was returning from Dallas to Mx. and the bus driver asked if anyone needed to get a permisso. I raised my hand and he stopped at the immigration ofc and got one.

This week I was returning from a trip to Dallas and the driver asked who needed to get a permisso. I raised my hand but he didn't stop at the immigration ofc. so I don't have a permisso. I didn't worry about it because in all the years I have been here I have never been asked to show my permisso. When I have been asked for a ID, I just show my US Passport and have never had a problem.

The only thing I worry about is Trump will try to bully Mx with threats of sanctions again and Mexico will retaliate by arresting US citizens living here without a permisso. I really don't want to live in a cage.
