Outside groups make up almost half of all presidential campaign ads
Source: NBC
Outside groups have accounted for almost half of all ad spending during this presidential general election, according to a First Read analysis of data provided by ad-buying firm SMG Delta.
Groups supporting the presidential candidates but not affiliated with the campaign, including super PACs, have spent $267 million of the $605.7 million spent on television and radio ads.
That means about 44 cents of every dollar spent on ads this election has come from outside groups.
Theres a big difference between who theyre supporting. Three-quarters of all money spent by outside groups -- $212 million -- has gone to support Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

I guess this could be why Romney and Republicans are so cocky. Between voter suppression and carpet bombing the air waves, they figure that so long as they can fog a mirror, they are going to win.

(4,802 posts)with lies, innuendo , and distortions.. Confusing the American people to the real issues.. Top that with a presidential debate( which should still be under the control of the League of Women voters) and its no wonder the American people are cynical and confused.
Still, the Gobbers are under the control of Big Money, Wall Street, and Insurance companies..
The Democratic party is influenced by many of those powerful groups , but our mix of financial backers is far superior to the well being of the Middle Class. The result : we must for now fight fire with fire..
. Obama seems interested in only fighting for himself and not so much help other Democrats.. Unless he fights for a progressive coalition , our money will not so much go to Obama.. But, to help real Democrats get elected to the Congress. Fighting fire with fire means our money will go to organizations such as Move On that takes on the right with a frontal attack.. Should Obama get any of our money , it will go to his Super Pac which does a better job of taking on the right.
