132 inmates escape Mexican prison on U.S. border

Source: CNN

Mexican authorities are blocking roads leading to the United States and are offering a $15,000 reward for the capture of the 132 inmates who escaped from a prison in a border town, authorities said.

The prison break occurred Monday afternoon in the border town of Piedras Negras in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila.

Piedras Negras is located about five miles from Eagle Pass, Texas, and 150 miles from San Antonio.

The inmates were able to escape what's known as a social rehabilitation center, a minimum-level-style facility, by burrowing through a seven-foot long tunnel, one by one, according to a statement from the state's prosecutor. The escapees then cut through a chain-link fence and ran through an empty lot.

and Fox quote AP as saying up to $15000 for each prisoner.

There's an AP link here : http://www.sacbee.com/2012/09/17/4829261/mexico-132-inmates-escape-from.html

Don't say if there are deals to be done on a dozen or more.

We're not talking Lichtenstein here. Mexico has plenty of land that is nowhere near the border.

They have a nice facility in San Diego, among other border prisons.

And we won't even talk about that Southwest border private prison immigration detention gulag.

more than for the townsfolk? I kinda fear that this will be seen as open season on immigrants by a few militia-type groups on this side of the border.
