Pres. Obama rep. on Romney leak: "It was a deep chasm"

Source: CNN

Pres. Obama Campaign National Co-Chair & former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland responds to the leaked video of Mitt Romney speaking at a private fundraising dinner.

Strickland says, “Well, it wasn’t a bump in the road, it was a deep chasm, in my judgment. And quite frankly, what the Governor said is very significant because it reveals something about his value system. For him to speak with such disdain about so many Americans and he wants to be our President? Some of those people that he was talking about, Soledad, are soldiers that are risking their lives at this very moment in Afghanistan. Some of those people he was talking about in such a disdainful way are older people. How can this man who wants to be president talk in such a disdainful way about half of the American people, and then hope to pull this country together and to be our president.”

He continues, “He’s very sly…. Many people don’t pay income taxes because they’re so poor they don’t make enough money to be able to pay income taxes. But they pay payroll taxes, they pay state taxes, they pay excise taxes. This man apparently feels that if you’re not a part of his social class or you don’t have his economic status, that somehow you’re a parasite.”

Are the same low-paid serfs who wait on him hand and foot, whether it's tending his garden, mucking out HRH Queen Ann's horse's stalls, or taking care of HRH Queen Ann when she is sick -- changing her bed sheets, taking her temperature and BP, drawing her blood, running her lab tests?

How many of "you people" are retired on a pittance after a lifetime of running your asses into the ground caretaking the Bishop and HRH Queen Ann and her family?

"You people" care for their every effing need and "You people" are the leeches?

Un-fucking believable. The unmitigated gall is just un-fucking believable.

He very eloquently made the case as to why this is a disqualifying moment for Rmoney. He is at least as evil as Nixon, Raygun, or Cheney and arguably more so. I can see him ordering soldiers to fight another unjustifiable war and then sleeping like a baby that same night. There's just nothing that is redeemable about this man.

The right promotes the idea of a liberal media conspiracy so that legitimate journalists will be afraid to publish stories that cast Republicans in a negative light. It also allows them to mount ad hominem attacks against any message they deem unfavorable without ever having to address the message at all.

I've already had several of the most prolific gopper posters state that they are tired of the political posts... omg they are so hateful online, but now all of a sudden no posts? I think it's because they are seeing the truth. It may not change their vote (I think a couple can't get past skin color) , but at least I won't have to read/see/hide their reposts - If they keep their word! lol

Anyway, I think this video has made an impact, at least in my microscopic sampling.

who do not pay federal income taxes? Does Romney include them in his 47-48% of people who feel "entitled"? Was he one of those people in 2009?

I know, I know, he's different. The rules don't apply to people like him.

... it seems it's parasitic for anyone beneath his social class to pay no taxes. (Notwithstanding that these people DO actually pay a LOT in total taxes, but never mind that fact.) Romney was wrong on so many levels with this.
