Danes furious over postponement of Trump's visit, call his behavior 'insulting'
Source: Washington Post
BERLIN Danish lawmakers on Wednesday reacted in fury to Presidents Trumps postponement of his two-day visit in early September to Denmark after its prime minister said she was not interested in selling him the autonomous island of Greenland.
Parliamentarians and former government ministers slammed the presidents behavior as juvenile, undiplomatic and insulting, though the government itself has yet to comment on the visits cancellation and instead scheduled a news conference for the afternoon.
Its an insult from a close friend and ally, Michael Aastrup Jensen, a member of the Danish parliament with the influential center-right Venstre party, told The Washington Post. He said Trumps interest in purchasing Greenland took the country by surprise and was initially widely considered to be a joke, before Danes realized the full extent of this disaster.
Jensen said Danish lawmakers felt misled and appalled by the president, who lacks even basic diplomatic skills, he said. There was no word [ahead of time] about: I want to buy Greenland and thats why Im coming.

(22,128 posts)Again.
Does this asshole not understand that Denmark can NOT sell Greenland, for godsakes?! Why would he want it anyway (other than to make a buck off hotels/golf courses), and who does he think would pay for that?
He is the laughingstock of the world. So embarrassing.

(5,737 posts)Think of its location! It's Cuban missile bases 2.0, the difference being that this administration - president and senate - are in Russia's pocket.
The Danes would not remotely sell Greenland to Russia, but there is the slimmest of chances, under the right conditions, that they would consider selling to the US.

(4,937 posts)(I'm going to refer to "it" as "it" from now on I think). When "it" goes somewhere "it" has to, like the G7, everyone needs to ignore "it". No one should talk to "it" or anyone that works for "it", especially "daughter-it" and "son-in-law-it".
I'd like to see "it" isolated and sitting alone with no one to talk to...like this:

(3,426 posts)he thinks in his fantasies he so richly deserves. Fake hand shakes, fake smiles and greetings, and yes fake respect. People saying something but thinking something else entirely different. All of the people well seasoned in the diplomatic process and protocols, except for Trump who stands or sits alone speaking words that are nothing more than the passing of a fools note. What bothers Trump the most I think ,is out on the world stage, all the other people are seasoned actors that not only know their lines but ad-lib on the spot. Trump would much rather at this stage in his shit show, do his stand up act from this side of the pond where he feels safe away from serious ridicule from afar or foreign states !
