Fox News' Chris Wallace says whistleblower complaint is "serious"

Source: Axios

Fox News' Chris Wallace criticized Trump defenders on Friday, saying that their spin on the whistleblower complaint is "deeply misleading" to the public.

Why it matters: President Trump alleged without evidence Friday that the whistleblower obtained their "second-hand information" from a "leaker" or "partisan operative." He has also referred to the whistleblower as a "political hack."

Wallace: "I'm not saying therefore there's a hot, solid case and the president should be impeached. I'm not saying that, but what is clear from reading the complaint is that it is a serious allegation. A lot has been proven to be born out already."

"The whistleblower lays out a blueprint for talking to various officials in the White House, various officials in the State Department. And to dismiss this as a political hack, it seems to me to be an effort by the president's defenders to make nothing out of something. And there is something here."

He's not following the party line. Doubt he'll get invited to Sean Hannity's house for Thanksgiving.

Oh, online media...how about "borne" out? Is someone going to give birth to evidence?

Deliberate enablers should be wary.

4. Is he throttled by his employer, genuinely ambivalent, or a Republican tethered to reality?

Or is the occasional liberal sound lipstick? I can never decide what to think of Chris Wallace, or Shep Smith for that matter. They occasionally make a mainstream feint that makes a headline.

Mike Wallace was a great journalist. They say now he was a Republican all along, yet you'd never know it from his reporting or his career. THAT is the mark of a great journalist dedicated to his craft.

that he realizes that the company line won't sell. So he gets himself out front on the backing down to make himself look good.
Thus he gets some journalistic points from some critics.

Thanks. Do you think he and Shep just toot a liitle moderate occasionally to try and draw in moderates who can then be warped by the rest of Fox into MAGAts? Show a little leg, in other words, as a teaser.

uneducated opinion is that Wallace is as you describe and Shep Smith is a real journalist.
I have always wondered how he (Smith) has kept his job there.

did a psyc-op on mainly elderly white people for 20 years. We now have to deal with over 30 percent of our population conspiracy riddled. Thanks, assholes.

You need to slowly bring them back. I wish we had a way to make a law to force entertainment, pretending to be news off of our channels, for the health of our people.

They watch "Three White People on a Couch" in the morning and "Sean Insanity" in the evening. Those are Trump's favorite propaganda shows. They already know Smith and Wallace are traitors to the Trump cause, and usually ignore most of what they say.
