Neighbor Who Testified Against Amber Guyger Shot and Killed in Dallas

Source: Law & Crime

Joshua Brown, the next door neighbor of Botham Jean, was shot and killed late Friday night in Dallas, Texas, an attorney for Jean’s family said. Brown recently testified for the prosecution in the murder trial of former Dallas cop Amber Guyger.

According to the Dallas Morning News, officers arrived on the scene at around 10:30 p.m. to the Atera apartments located at the 4600 block of Cedar Springs Road in Dallas’ Turtle Creek neighborhood.

Per that report:

Police found a man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Witnesses told police they heard several gunshots and saw a silver four-door sedan speeding out of the parking lot.

Sounds very much like a small town, rabid racist hot bed of Klansmen.

How dare anyone dare witness against one of its fine white cops for any reason whatsoever.

As mentioned already, it's really too bad we can't believe the federal government, at this point, to handle the obvious civil rights murder of the witness.

May that good man, also rest in peace, and may, with time, at least be properly avenged, as his life was sacrificed to uphold the dominance of the murderous racists among us.

I'm curious how people manage to figure these things out.

Before the Guyger incident, he was involved in a fight in which he was shot and another man was killed.

What facts make you believe this has nothing to do with that fight and previous shooting to which he was also a witness?

Brown had himself been wounded in a separate shooting, last November, outside a nightclub in northwest Dallas, according to reports. After a fistfight between him and another man, someone pulled a gun and began shooting, WFAA said. The conflict left another man dead.

In that shooting, Kendall Deshonn Morris, 26, was charged with murder in the death of 25-year-old Nicholas Shaq’uan Diggs, according to The Dallas Morning News at the time. Morris is out on bond, reported WFAA-TV.

His testimony can be presented at a new trial. He testified at previous trial and is no longer available to testify. Under hearsay rule exception, his testimony would be allowed.

"Former testimony. Testimony given under oath, and subject to cross-examination, can be admitted at a subsequent trial if the speaker becomes unavailable. The reason is that the circumstances under which the statement was made point to its reliability, especially when cross-examination touched on issues also present in the current case."

Far too many time DUers were outraged about "sure" things that turned out to be bogus.

- DUers were 100% sure it was a racist white guy that shot and killed Jazmine Barnes - turned out he was in the wrong place at the wrong time while the actual suspects were two Black men.

- DUers were 100% sure MAGATs attacked Jussie Smollett but it has turned out his claim is almost certainly bogus.

- DUers were 100% certain that White Supremacists vandalized a Mississippi Black church with the words "Vote Trump" and then burned it a week later. Turns out to be a black man, Andrew McClinton, who did it.

- DUers were 100% certain that there was an epidemic of white folks were going around writing racist and homophobic comments on receipts until they got exposed as frauds.

- DUers were 100% certain that it was middle school Klanners-in-training that held down a girl and cut off her hair - then she admitted to fabricating the story.

If he were killed 5 years down the road I'm sure there are folks on here that would claim that the Dallas PD just waited until the heat was off to whack him.

Other than the timing of the trial and his being shot, there isn't even circumstantial evidence this was a hit by the police against a witness.

Conspiracy theorists are gonna theorize.

and was attacked for it. Until or unless an investigation happens and his killers are found and proven to be part of the police- or acting upon the orders of the police, this is just conjecture. But then I'm reminded that the police can't be trusted to investigate themselves (which we're all distrustful of nowadays), so there's really no way to disprove anything either, so what do we do? And even if the FBI was called in to investigate, they're tainted too, because of it being "Trump's FBI", which nobody particularly trusts either, so..............? I know that there's a lot of weird and hinky stuff going on but what do we do?

I'd have to look up the article.

He must have moved at some point after Jean was killed..I mean, who can blame him.
So when he was shot and killed Friday night he was in a different part of Dallas,
not downtown anymore, but in the "Oak Lawn" area.
Not far really, so people outside of Dallas wouldn't know that,
but it's not the same area.
An article I read said he was killed outside his apartment, so he must have moved.

I don't know if it was something random, related to the Guyger issue, or related to when he was shot a few months ago.
Dallas Police are looking for clues, and have asked the public to come forward if they have any info.

I've read through Lee Merritt's posts on the matter, and the family is waiting for the autopsy.
There's rumors as to what part of the body he was shot. Like the mouth and the chest.
So we need to see what the coroner says.

I'm not saying it's related, but it does stink a little.

So, several months ago, he was involved in a fight in which another person was shot to death and in which he was wounded.

I wonder how everyone else here figured out that previous shooting was totally unrelated.

OF COURSE that was Fox News (radio newscast) but why would they leave out that crucial point?

btw I only listen to that channel occasionally late at night to keep informed on things like alien abductions and bigfoot.
