Romney: 'My campaign is about the 100 percent'

Source: CBS

By Rebecca Kaplan

GOP nominee Mitt Romney found himself on the defensive at a Wednesday forum with Latino voters, fielding sharp questions about his comments at a closed-door fundraiser, immigration reform and Arizona's controversial immigration law before the event shifted to his preferred subject of the economy.

The very first question the former Massachusetts governor received during the forum, which was broadcast live online by the Spanish-language network Univision, put Romney in the position of again explaining comments from a secretly recorded video at a fundraiser that 47 percent of the country wouldn't vote for him because they depend on government assistance.

"My campaign is about the 100 percent of Americans," Romney said, arguing that his record of accomplishments in Massachusetts - raising the unemployment rate and helping improve schools - proves his commitment to the whole nation.

"This is a campaign about helping people who need help," he said. "And right now the people who are poor in this country need help getting out of poverty. The people in the middle class need help because their incomes have gone down every year over the last four years."

at 47 (go figure) - worst economy out of 50 states. So what he said was CORRECT. Wait for the ads to show how he fucked up MA. I think the best thing he did was the healthcare that he runs from.

If he is trying to convience 47% of the people 47 days from the election that he is for 100% of the people,
I think that makes him 147% screwed

His campaign is about the 100% except when he goes on Fox News, goes on right wing radio, or speaks before his donors. On those occasions his campaign is about getting 10%-51% of the population to vote for him.

It's a small thing, but letting them put an unnatural color on him (a color that suggests he's trying to look a little bit "brown" for Univision's audience) is such a pudknocker mistake.

Are there any people in his campaign thinking about, oh, I don't know, like HOW TO RUN A FRACKIN' CAMPAIGN? And this guy wants to run the entire country?
