He seems still to be working for Barr and not the people of the United States. Extraordinarily well educated (Harvard, Yale, and Cambridge I believe) he is not erring here because of ignorance. Trump and Barr -- mostly Barr, because Trump doesn't think that broadly -- know that it is necessary to undermine the truth -- and the ability of the government to ferret it out -- by any and every means available. Engel's letter represents just a small example of those means.

Engel's letter is throughly countered by the IG's based on fundamental points of law that Engel, himself, must know. His decision to ignore those fundamental points casts a shadow over his integrity and honesty and makes me think he may, just possibly*, be in with the Gang that Can't Treason Straight (as Bill Maher dubbed the Trump administration) and not at all interested in fair and objective (non-partisan) application of law.

*just kidding. Of course he's in on the efforts by Trump and Barr to undermine the will of the people, the law of the land, the freedoms that America used to brag about, and America's independence from the foreign influence of Trump's international creditors and pee-tape holders. But I digress.
