House Withdraws Impeachment Subpoena To Ex-NSC Aide

Source: TPM

Lawyers for House impeachment investigators dropped their subpoena to compel a former National Security Council official to testify before Congress.

House Democrats said in a new court filing Wednesday they had dropped their subpoena of former deputy national security adviser Charles Kupperman on Tuesday and did not intend to reissue it. They requested that the lawsuit that Kupperman filed to compel the courts to determine whether he should appear for impeachment testimony be dropped.

Kupperman was subpoenaed in late October, but he did not appear for testimony because he wanted to wait for the courts to determine whether he had to comply. President Trump directed Kupperman to not appear citing testimonial immunity for his closest advisers.

House Democrats called the suit an attempt to delay impeachment proceedings and House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) threatened to hold Kupperman in contempt.

Would others try to get out of a subpoena the same way?
Could this guy be the whistle blower and that is the real reason the subpoena was withdrawn?

This removes the possibility of a bad decision.

I would think the committees would love to have a legal statement letting those that are subpoenaed are required to honor them.
Instead, I'm guessing that this is all "lawyer talk" about how to proceed from here without stopping anything.

That being said, I'd love to hear some DU lawyer provide some insight regarding this!

Send the Sgt @ Arms to pick all of the subpoenaed traitors up NOW!

Then hit them with $1,000 per day until compliance and see how quick the show up.

Plus all rethugs that tRump has spoken to including Moscow Mitch as they are all

That basically people that have been requested to testify and choose not to - IF the Democrats take the White House and appoint a new Attorney General - then people that have decided that Trump is their God and refused to comply - can be subject to criminal charges for up to five years from the date of their refusal/or request to testify. And that the penalty can be imprisonment up to five years.

So, let them keep their money, and let them do the time!
