'Very, very nasty': Trump unexpectedly attacks French president at NATO summit

US President Donald Trump unexpectedly launched a verbal assault at the United States' oldest ally Tuesday (local time), slamming French President Emmanuel Macron's warnings about the decline of the NATO military alliance as "insulting," "very, very nasty" and "very disrespectful."

Trump sought to smooth over his disagreement with Macron when the two later spoke with reporters, saying they had made progress on resolving differences over trade and security strategy.

But Macron held his ground, pointing his finger toward Trump, who responded with sour expressions and a renewal of his threat to impose tariffs on French wine and other products.

Trump's surprising defense of NATO, which he once derided as "obsolete," and his public clash with a European leader who long was in Trump's good graces, highlighted the president's ever shifting, often confusing and frequently impolitic approach to foreign policy and national security.

The rest of us normal Americans despise him .
The solution is to get so many voters to the polls that the Repubics won't be able to rig the results.

"Fat Nixon"

But really, we shouldn't insult Nixon like that! Nixon had the decency to resign and hold the country above his own self-interests.

as much as the fact that he realized he'd be removed from office and very much wanted to avoid that extreme level of humiliation. Nixon was not a very decent guy, but unlike Trump he was able to behave in public, and he was smart enough to know when his goose was cooked.

and I didn't mean to imply that Nixon was a decent person...I was more referring to the act of resigning...and whether intended or not, it did save the country from going through an Impeachment trial and the 1st removal of a President as a result.

And is facing being exposed as a criminal and a fraud, and is taking it out on anyone near him. His desperation is showing, and his lies are still increasing, while fewer are believing his propaganda putin has him promoting. Republicans in Congress either vote to impeach him while they have this chance, or give putin and others freedom to rig elections for his candidate, again. Would have been really funny if Mcron stuck a sign on his trump's back with something funny on it. I can see the cartoons now.
