Willie Nelson quits smoking due to breathing difficulties

Source: Omaha World Herald-Celebretainment

Willie Nelson has given up smoking after breathing became “a little more difficult.”

The 86-year-old country music legend says smoking almost killed him so he recently decided to start looking after himself as he feels “lucky” to be alive.

He told KSAT TV: “I have abused my lungs quite a bit in the past, so breathing is a little more difficult these days and I have to be careful.

“I started smoking cedar bark, went from that to cigarettes to whatever. And that almost killed me. I don’t smoke anymore — take better care of myself. I’m here, I’m glad to be here. I’m lucky to be here.”

I saw a recent clip of him and it's clear that his lungs are in bad shape. I hope he finds some relief.

It seems like when we try to extract chemicals from plants is when we get into trouble.

Plus it's not like THC and CBD are the only active chemicals that contribute to cannabis's medical effects. There are so many other chemicals in the plant that may work together for the full benefits in ways we don't understand.

A real game changer. I’ll use the vape carts if I want to be inconspicuous, but I think you’re spot on with the comment about flower being better than vape juice.

I save the afterbake and make edibles from it to get anything left over that didn't come out with the main heat applied.

Actually saves me part of the process I used to do for making edibles -- decarboxylation has already occurred thanks to the main heat of the first time around. I do notice they are still fairly sedating, suggesting that perhaps CBN is what I'm extracting along with any missed THCv.

First, lets get this straight:
Vaping a pure product, is waaaaaaaaaay less dangerous than smoking the same product. Eliminating the smoke and tar carcinogens.

Its not about vaporizers, its about the oils they mix the concentrates with. And mostly all is from the black market.

But I'm not surprised to see the kind of reaction that mtngirl47 had. If you rely on the MSM, you would think it was the act of vaporizing that is the problem. No matter if its tobacco or weed.

My Grandson demanded that I “quit them Damn things” cause he wanted me around for a long long time. Well I used the patch and drank tons of water.I used a Generic brand patch and about a month later I was smoke free and that was 11 years ago.

Infant mortality in the U.S. in the 1930's was nearly 60 out of every 1000 live births. Her brothers were 4 and 7, so wouldn't have been included in these figures.

...due to cancer of his larynx. He speaks with one of those vibrators. He blames 30 years of cigs, but can't smoke weed anymore. But he lives in CA and has a med card and can use all the alternative methods: edibles; shatter, wax, stuff I've never heard of.
