Total turmoil, and really, knowing the personalities, you knew all along that it would come to this type of confrontation, it's been a dictatorship move from Day One that has been a planned coup for several decades. Little snippets of it would leak into a press story here or there, as if they were alerting the public, or perhaps signalling their own followers. Because they do have followers, those who would profit from this power and resource grab.

Not at all clear to me, or anyone reading this really, for sure, how this all gets resolved. Trump is acquitted, and screams "Witch Hunt!" all the way to the ballot box because you know his playbook is smaller than his hands and he just recycles as he goes along.

If Trump is acquitted, I doubt Resist! will take this lying down because they're already organized, vocal, and fighting back. Hitler faced no such opposition in the 1930s. Resist! is more like Solidarity in Poland in the 1980s, or even Garibaldi, the supporter of Italy's democratic Republican government.

How much noise can people make? We have a shadow government operating in a fully functional way - our brave Speaker Nancy Pelosi and democratic majority and committees.

I'm hoping or betting that Senate Intelligence Commitee chairmen will exert more influence than expected. If there are any Republican patriots they would have to be supportive of defending the country's sovereignty from foreign influence enabled by political corruption here at home.

I would not think so since elections are managed by the states, but this whole administration is so corrupt that they will try anything to keep Trump, and themselves, in power. I keep thinking about a poll done in 2017 in which something like 52% of Republicans said they would support cancelling the 2020 election if Trump claimed that it would be fraudulent. That’s still a minority of all voters, but we have been surprised before about the nasty actions taken by and for Trump.

Persons do exist who could put this matter away in half an hour of testimony.

we are not living in an era where the impartial rule of law applies (although it has been misapplied in a multitude of occasions in the history of this country, especially regarding to members of minority groups). In a right and just world, Donnie "Two Scoops" and his cabal of gangsters would face justice - that not longer is a possibility. The reality is that our DOJ and Federal court system has been throughly compromised by political hacks that only dispenses justice to those that are political patrons and swear fealty to the "Chosen One" and those who identify themselves with an "R". There's been a dramatic erosion of what remained of our justice system since Sir-Flush-Alot infested our White House and this will continue in the ensuring, days, months, and years. Bottom line - we're fucked folks and resistance is the only option.

What I don't understand is the amount of smart, objective lawyers who praised him when he was new in his position. How could they not see through this guy, especially with his history?!?
