Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) thanked House Republicans for their outpouring of support Thursday after President Trumps suggestion during a campaign rally that her late husband, John Dingell, might be looking up from hell.
Throughout Thursday, Dingell said Republicans ranging including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) and Reps. Liz Cheney (Wyo.) and Louie Gohmert (Texas) crossed the aisle to offer their support for her and her husband, who died in February. John Dingell retired in 2015 as the longest-serving member of Congress in history.
The previous night, after the Houses tense debate to approve two articles of impeachment against Trump, the president lashed out at Dingell for her vote against him, especially after he gave military support for John Dingells memorial services including a flight filled with a bipartisan delegation to Michigan for a funeral they never could attend because of bad weather.
The president and the congresswoman discussed his support for the services in a phone call that Trump recounted for the rally Wednesday night.

(2,412 posts)I did not play well in Michigan when Trump used Dingell as the butt of his crude joke. This will be his downfall in the Midwest.
