Trump campaign says it raised $46 million in fourth quarter, dwarfing Democrats' hauls

Source: CNBC

By Elly Cosgrove,

President Donald Trump’s campaign announced Thursday that it raised $46 million in the final quarter of 2019, as the Republican cashed in while he was being impeached by the Democratic-led House of Representatives.

Trump’s total in the final three months of 2019 is far bigger than any quarterly total announced so far by any Democratic candidate.

It also marks the best fundraising quarter for Trump’s reelection bid, according to a press release. The campaign also said it had $102.7 million in cash on hand heading into 2020.

“President Trump’s unprecedented fundraising is testament to his wide grassroots support and his stellar record of achievement on behalf of the American people,” said Brad Parscale, Trump’s campaign manager.

Yes, because he's the only Republican candidate. We have several Democratic candidates. If you combine all the money they raised with what Trump did, it's much closer.

I read in another thread that Bernie raised 34 million and Mayor Pete raised 25. That alone is 59 million, and that doesn't even count what Biden Warren and Yang brought in.

We're splitting the pie 12 ways and he owns the entire GOP pie ……..Bernie , Yang and Mayor Pete raised a combined 74 million dollars in Q 4 …. Warren and Biden will raise , at least, another combined 40 million in Q 4 ….

Roberts: Judges working to promote civics, impartial courts

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal judges are taking up the challenge to educate Americans about how their government works at a time when false information can spread instantaneously on social media, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote Tuesday in his annual year-end report.

With the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump looming, Roberts, who will preside over the trial in the Senate, focused on the independence of the judiciary and the role of judges in promoting civic education in the United States.

“In our age, when social media can instantly spread rumor and false information on a grand scale, the public’s need to understand our government, and the protections it provides, is ever more vital,? Roberts wrote.

Judges must continue promoting public confidence in the judiciary, through their rulings and civic outreach, he said.

Big, fat hair deal:

--Bernie brought in $34.5 Million
--Pete brought in $24.7 Million

Just the combined total of those two is $59.2 Million. Trump is a Chump. Add in all of the other money being spent on the Democratic side and they blow Trump out of the water. Hahahahaha!

Not only do our higher totals (split many ways) soak up a large portion of Democrats' available funds for campaign support... those funds are largely spent against each other. Trump gets to spend his dollars entirely on his own reelection (while technically "running for the nomination&quot . General election funds don't start taking hits until after the convention. Even after our (July) convention, he'll have several weeks of "primary" spending - while our eventual nominee will be eating his/her general election dollars.

Outside funding for independent messaging/GOTV/etc. will be critical.

Trump raised $46 million. The top five Democratic candidates raised over $112 million. Comparing fundraising where there is a single candidate on one side and at least five on the other is a silly comparison.

Last year, Hermitage Capital Management CEO Bill Browder told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he believes the Russian president is "the richest man in the world" with a net worth of $200 billion. Browder has some bona fides to back up his Russia connections; the financier's firm was once the largest portfolio investor in Russia.

Of course the oligarchy wants to prop up red don. He's awfully good for their offshore bank accounts.

And of course the headline should be that combined Dems raised much more money than red don.

And of course money raised shouldn't be a measure of political viability in most cases (but in the present-day system of buying teevee ads, it is).

It's no secret Big Business prefers them, like they've prefered any number of fascist parties over the last 100 years.

The irony here is that business does better under Democrats, generally, than under the GOP.

But Republicans know how to sing their tune better than we do - and they're more willing to bribe them by way of tax cuts. It's a question of ego, really.

There is only one Republican on the ticket: Trump. The Dems have a bunch. Which if you are counting each candidate alone, yes but sum up all the Democrats? With Sanders, Mayor Pete and Yang alone, more people donated more money than Trump raised. Also missing from this is how much the DNC pulled in.

See: https://www.forbes.com/sites/lisettevoytko/2020/01/02/democrats-2020-fundraising-sanders-posts-345-million-haul-trump-still-far-ahead/#3b69da3611fd
