Senate GOP Will Move to Acquit Friday Night

Source: Political Wire

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WV) told NBC News says the GOP’s plan would be to move to immediately acquit President Trump on Friday night if in fact the U.S. Senate votes against calling additional witnesses.

The Hill: “It was clear to Senate Republicans on Wednesday after a morning meeting between Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) that the question of having additional witnesses is settled, and the Senate will vote Friday to wrap up the impeachment trial of President Trump.”

It’s now in the party DNA. There is not an honest one in the bunch, nor one with any sense of loyalty to our country. They will use whatever means necessary to rig the November election so that Trump wins and the Senate stays in Republican hands. The only antidote to that plan is for people to vote for Democrats in such massive numbers that their rigging fails.

Bolton will do his book tour and interviews.

The TRUTH will come out!

These Republican Senators have failed their constitutional job and now are part of the cover-up.

They know he's a criminal and know the facts will come out. That they don't care, scares me to death. It's showing that they have strong reason to believe that the election is fixed and drumpf and they will win - regardless of how American's vote. What has PUtin promised them and what else will they allow? I think we will know that the fix is in to kill our constitutional way of life. Laws will only apply to Dems (that's pretty much the case right now, so freaking sad), public schools will be ended or will drastically shrink and be totally underfunded to the point they don't work at all, Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare will be destroyed, ACA, psht - gone. Labor laws, including child labor laws and overtime laws - gone. We will become in a very short time a serfs and barons model & guess which we will be.

I really don't see how we can survive this treachery.

Not to be overly dramatic, but the last embers of what little remained of our democracy and, most importantly, the Rule of Law are being extinguished on a daily basis. While I'm hoping for a positive result in November, I'm actively preparing for a worst case scenario and would advise other like minded folks to due the same. In 2016, the control of the federal government by the CONS was not absolute because they had an untested leader and hadn't yet gained near total control of the courts. After the acquittal, there'll be no mechanism to prevent Il Douche and his minions from acting with total impunity and eliminating any and all resistance. I'm expecting an all out assault on minorities, public servants, progressives, and any other groups that do not swear fealty to the CONS and their king. The similarities to the rise of fascism in Europe during the 1920's and 30's is eerie and offers a window to what may transpire in the very near future for us.

Sen. Barasso represents <600K people, less than a decent sized midwestern city. WV is 3x that.

The strategy is to use the spineless cowardly corrupt votes of the Republicans against them in 2020.
