Pathological: Trump administration slammed for saying Coronavirus outbreak will bring jobs back to US
Published 1 min ago on January 30, 2020
President Donald Trumps Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, whose job reportedly was on the chopping block last year but somehow managed to keep it, just announced his belief that the deadly and fast-spreading coronavirus will bring jobs back to the U.S.
......................................
But Secretary Ross found a way to put a positive spin on it.
Every Americans heart has to go out to the victims of the coronavirus, Wilbur told Fox Business Maria Bartiromo, So I dont want to talk about a victory lap over a very unfortunate and very malignant disease.

But the fact is it does give businesses yet another thing to consider when they go through their review of their supply chains, he said, pivoting.
So I think it will help accelerate the return of jobs to North America. Some to U.S., probably some to Mexico.
Bartiromo was only too happy to support Ross: Oh, thats a good point.

Revoke corporate personhood.
The fall of the US wasn't people turning their backs on religion like the right likes to claim, it was giving corporations Constitutional rights, just like We the People have. (There is some argument over whether the Supreme Court actually meant that corporations should have Constitutional rights, but just like "you can't indict a sitting president" it seems to have stuck.)
So these non-living entities, who don't have any need for clean air and water, safe food, healthcare, education, child/elder care, or even an environment that sustains them, suddenly have the same rights that you & I have, only with their wealth and longevity, their rights are actually amplified, think Citizens United where they argue that money is speech. If money is speech, how much speech do you have compared to GE? I think this is one issue that could unite the left and the right. When I told my right wing cousin that corporations have Constitutional rights just like We the People, he said, "That isn't right."
Corporations should serve We the People, not the other way around. We use to work to support our private lives. Now our private lives support the corporation. From cradle to grave, in sickness or health, we are nothing but consumers and debt slaves to the corporation. We need to revoke their personhood status and reclaim our citizenship.
Slavery is the fiction that people are property.
Corporate personhood is the fiction that corporations are people.

Reclaim Democracy's Corporate Personhood page: There's some really good reading on these pages.
This PDF timeline needs updating, but it's a good overview of human rights vs corporate power up through the 90s.
And here's a one page primer from the Sierra Club, that another DUer shared with me, for those with limited time: Meet the Corporation
Revoke corporate personhood.

(4,341 posts)claims to kill is "Coronavirus", so this is not a new virus. Is someone trying to create chaos and panic in the World?
If you have can of Lysol spray, check it out.

(6,917 posts)Your point that China forgot to think of spraying a can of Lysol is heard. I think the challenge is finding 3 billion cans of Lysol for the Chinese, and another 5 billion for the rest of the world.
But it is a solution that may work for one person in quarantine.
And I havent panicked for any epidemic in the past, SARS, Ebola, Flu. But Im gonna panic for this one and hope Im wrong.
