WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. military is preparing to report a more than 50 percent jump in the number of cases of traumatic brain injury stemming from Iran’s missile attack on a base in Iraq last month, U.S. officials told Reuters on Monday.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said there were now over 100 cases of TBI, up from the 64 that had been previously reported last month.

The Pentagon declined to comment.

who planned the Soleimani attack was himself killed in an airplane shootdown incident in Afghanistan. The Pentagon released the names of the two pilots, has not confirmed that the plane was shot down, and has had no comment on whether Michael D'Andrea was aboard.

... if Russia knew he was on that plane and tipped off some Iranian or Afghani people. However
none of this would have happened without Trump's poking @ that snake in the grass in bombing the
pro Iranian faction in Iraq and then the killing of Soleimani.

Targeted, hard to verify, small scale, unlikely. If they did indeed take down D'Andrea, it's a big deal. It's very curious that the US government is not producing D'Andrea to clown the Iranians, who reported his death on their news stations. All we've had is a "Business Insider" piece goofing on the Iranians for using a picture of the actor who played him in Zero Dark Thirty, rather than a picture of D'Andrea himself. But still no confirmation that he's alive, or dead. He wasn't an undercover operative. He was the damn Kabul station chief, if I'm not mistaken. There's no particular reason to keep his death (or non-death!) secret, other than the old standby of sources and methods. That said, if the Iranians figured out what specific plane he was on and when to shoot it down, I suppose that does speak to a massive intelligence failure that you'd want to keep under wraps.

Not a surprise really, as it is the Trump administration and the fact that it was a lie at all was immediately apparent (only the magnitude was uncertain).

All these TBI's are happening to these people as opposed to deaths and dismemberment. It was a rocket attack, yes?

The bunker didn't get blown to pieces, but the violent shaking from the shock rattled their brains. Similar to how soldiers in those heavily armored MRAPs might have survived and IED in one piece, but still came out with brain injuries.

...... of this rocket attack? I recall t-Rump bombed an airport last year but we gave advance notice, therefore

the Russians and their equipment were already gone when we attacked, so we hit an empty installation.

If we had advanced notice here , why in the hell weren't our troops evacuated before the strike?

And why aren't Democrats screaming (the equivalent of) Benghazi !!! Benghazi !!!!! Benghazi!!!!????

states the Pentagon reports 408,000 TBIs since 2000-that's 20K casualties per year we haven't been hearing about...also I wonder if that's not linked to the dramatic increase in military suicides?
