SEATTLE, April 1 (Reuters) - Boeing Co was set to offer employee buyout and early retirement packages, two people familiar with the matter said on Wednesday, a bid to mitigate the financial fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.

Boeing Chief Executive Dave Calhoun was expected to detail a voluntary layoff plan in a memo to employees as early as Thursday, one of the people said. (Reporting by Eric M. Johnson in Seattle and Shubham Kalia in Bangalore Editing by Shri Navaratnam)

companies will find it cheaper to keep some employees at home permanently, many employees will like it better, 3-6% of employees will grow or start a side gig or business and never return. This has implications for REITS, commercial office space, part time workers, miles driven to commute, lunch spending, benefits status, even retirement investments.

3. Open office design was always bullshit. It doesn't improve productivity and spreads illness.
