Mitt Romney Hong Kong Fundraiser Planned For Thursday

Source: huffington post

WASHINGTON — Supporters of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney plan a campaign fundraiser for him Thursday in Hong Kong as U.S.-China trade friction becomes an issue in the White House race.

Romney supporters already have raised more than $385,000 for him in Hong Kong, a world financial center that has been administered by China since Britain turned it over in 1997.

Romney accuses China's government of trade, currency and intellectual property abuses, and says President Barack Obama has failed to confront Chinese officials as the abuses worsened.

Obama supporters say the administration has stood up to China and accuse Romney's former firm, Bain Capital, of aiding the shift of American jobs to China.

I'm not up on campaign finance laws but I don't think foreign nationals can contribute. Still, it doesn't look good.

Contributions must come from Americans, not foreigners or foreign corporations.

Of course, If I were Chinese, or French or whatever, I could slip you $2000, and you could write a check on your American bank account.

Just saying, hard to enforce

Seems China is fed up with Romney and the Republican Party too.

Now I have a better understanding why Romney just attacked Obama about China. Romney did it so he wouldn't look like he's the only one putting pressure on China.
Romney is poison and a manipulator.

One other note; China doesn't have intellectual property laws. I read an article last year that said there are many fake Apple stores there, selling fake Apple products. I can't remember where I read it though, it could have been from Yahoo!.

10. Remember back to the 4th of July when Karl Rove mistakenly said Obama
Wed Sep 26, 2012, 07:43 PM
Sep 2012

was not going to be in the USA but in Paris for a fundraiser?

That was quickly retracted and corrected within a couple hours, but Rove actually thought Obama was going to Paris for a fundraiser on the 4th of July.
