(2,921 posts)The refs should have been in place SIX WEEKS AGO.
Now, fire all the scabs, and give them NOTHING but derision and tell them to go back to Pee Wee Football, and don't call the NFL.

Just kidding.
Maybe.

(18,470 posts)The replacement refs didn't know their asses from holes in the ground. And that was even before Monday Night Football.

You KNOW some casino owners were calling some NFL owners .... 'Get this done !'

(29,322 posts)or I doubt there was any influence. NFL owners already have money so I don't think they are swayed what casino operators want.

Casino bosses are known to do that.

(29,322 posts)I think they made out. I read an estimate the 70% played Green Bay on the point spread. Even if that is wrong, you gotta figure most betters played Green Bay.
The money-line wasn't huge for Seattle so they didn't lose out to much on those plays. They do have Green Bay pickers juice so I'm sure they aren't hurting.
The touchdown didn't affect over/under (stayed under).
I think that many fans were serious about supporting the product after the MNF game that they came to a deal. They want to keep that flow of money every sports league wishes they had.

(8,846 posts)They could have put 12 or 13 players in for each play, and the refs wouldn't have noticed.
Just as well. The uncovered receivers would have dropped the pass anyway.

(20,776 posts)It has been a huge trend on twitter, Tuesday.. after that totally messed up game on Monday Night. Everyone I knew, said it was the worst officiating game ever.. even if it wasn't it was horrendous, and could just imagine what the season would have been like, had it not been corrected.

(10,115 posts)Just what the league needed to get things rolling, a triple threat. MNF, The Green Bay Packers, and a bad call on the last play.

(22,000 posts)It would have really be nice if they'd fixed this prior to the start of the regular season.

(1,236 posts)if the population in this country would get as fired up about the incompetence in Washington as they did about incompetence in refereeing pro football.
