Todd Akin: Claire McCaskill was more ‘ladylike’ in 2006

Source: Washington Post

Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) reminds Republicans why they were hoping he would drop out of the U.S. Senate race against incumbent Claire McCaskill (D).

“I think we have a very clear path to victory, and, apparently, Claire McCaskill thinks we do, too, because she was very aggressive at the debate, which was quite different than it was when she ran against Jim Talent,” Akin told the Kansas City Star on Thursday. “She had a confidence and was much more ladylike [in 2006], but in the debate on Friday she came out swinging, and I think that’s because she feels threatened.”

Akin’s campaign declined to comment on the candidate’s characterization of his opponent. In that debate last week, McCaskill called Akin “extreme” and “far out on the fringe.”

Republicans spent weeks pressuring Akin to end his Senate bid after his comments on abortion and “legitimate rape.” But Akin persevered past the Sept. 25 deadline for exiting the campaign, and the establishment organizations that pledged to boycott the Missouri race have started to come around.

and squander all that money they're throwing at you. I suppose all of the women in the State of missouri are just going to embrace you spitting on McCaskill's demeanor.

Akin, you just need to shut the fuck up.

They don't know that saying "act more lady-like" is now Offensive
just like Mitt Doesn't know calling people "illegal Aliens" and "Entitled Victims" might piss a few people off

and Scott Brown is blissfully unaware that having his staffers do Native American Chants, and Chopping motions with their fist, is the most Racist thing you can levy against a Native American,

Because see most old white men invented these insults and they haven't realized that they were all rejected years ago, because when they laugh they close their eyes so they don't see the disgust in our faces. It is why they all need to be EJECTED in the Present day

Where did that get him? He is WHERE now? Hillary is Secretary of State. We even had Condi as Secretary of State.

"Ladylike" Secretaries of State? Who needs needs them. We want, and need, EFFECTIVE Secretaries of State. Who cares if they wear pearls, dresses, and high heels.

SEXIST Men, we DON't NEED.

I know you think she should be acting more like the "legitimate loser" you hoped she might be. However, losing in not in the game plan. Y'see, savvy women like Claire McCaskill have a way of shutting that whole loser thing down. You own it now, Todd!

Until the final "drop dead" date for Akin to withdraw his candidacy came and went. He has a rich treasure trove of extreme comments that will not serve him well once they hit the TV screen. If he's currently ahead by one point, it would more than likely represent a momentary peak that will crumble as soon as his true colors are on display for undecided and switchable voters.

I usually check electoral-vote.com for a quick update on both the presidential and the senate races. That's where I saw the Missouri race 47 dem, 48 rep. It was a Chilenski Strategies poll. I don't know if they lean left or right, but happy to see the poll results you posted. Although the ones you reference are earlier than this one 9/20/2012.

don't send that woman-hating TODD AKIN nutjob to the US Senate. Here's my question though. Why is it AKIN HAS only SIX CHILDREN instead of let's say 12 or 18? Think it through y'all. Think it through. And why does "devout" Catholic LYINRYAN who has been married for 15 years have ONLY THREE CHILDREN?
