Washington, DC, has continued to see an overall rise in coronavirus cases over the last seven weeks.

I so agree. We have almost no data about where people are getting infected or when. LisaM May 2020 #3

I'd like to see data on the jobs people had or how they got infected. We've seen essential workers and first responders get it, but I imagine there may be some folks who are homeless and some who ignored social distance orders and decided to have parties.

Obviously, the virus was spreading before people were aware of it, and in tight situations like NYC, it was probably in public places like subways.

But I'd really like to see the patterns emerge. It would be so useful.

So large groups--funerals (GA), for instance. Or some workplaces.

One MIT white paper found a strong correlation in NYC for use of subways and geographic distribution of reported cases. There was the warning not to assume causality, probably because that leap of faith was so attractive. We're left with thinking perhaps the virus spread in the subway system, primarily on certain lines; or perhaps the virus spread in the community, and communities tend to favor certain lines (like, perhaps, the ones running in their neighborhoods).

It would be the low-paid workers that they'd have to steer clear of.
