Trump calls it 'inappropriate' for Bolton to write book
Source: The Hill
President Trump on Monday said it was totally inappropriate for former national security adviser John Bolton to write a memoir about his work in the White House and claimed the book contains "highly classified" information.
If he wrote a book, I cant imagine that he can because thats highly classified information, Trump, who said he hadnt read the book, told reporters during a meeting in the Cabinet Room.
I will consider every conversation with me as president highly classified. So that would mean if he wrote a book and if the book gets out, hes broken the law and I would think he would have criminal problems, Trump continued.
Trump also suggested the details contained in the book may not be truthful, telling reporters Bolton has "been known not to tell the truth, a lot.

(12,712 posts)It is even more inappropriate that Trump is in office. It is ultimately inappropriate and an insult to everything good about our country.

(4,614 posts)the word "inappropriate" escaped his lips. How about his little, private and confidential tete-a-tetes with Putin just for starters.

(9,678 posts)...."the details contained in the book may not be truthful..." In that case, it wouldn't be "highly classified information" would it? Or, if it is actually highly classified AND not truthful, then extending that logic to his statement of: I will consider every conversation with me as president, highly classified.", results in a condition of every conversation with tRump as being untruthful.
Probably faulty logic on my part but looks to me as he can't have it both ways.

(2,626 posts)but not important enough to Bolton that he was willing to testify before Congress (no consideration for the welfare of the country) but gossipy enough that he expects us to pay for it.
