An Arizona sheriff who in May said that he wouldn't enforce a stay-at-home order imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic has tested positive for COVID-19.
Mark Lamb, the sheriff of Pinal County, Ariz., revealed in a statement shared on Facebook on Wednesday that he received a positive test result after getting an invitation to meet with President Trump at the White House. Lamb was one of several officials invited to attend a White House meeting on law enforcement and the signing of Trump's executive action on policing.
Lamb said that he received a mandatory screening from the White House and that the test came back positive.

White House spokesman Judd Deere told The Hill that Lamb never interacted with the president before testing positive and that he was immediately escorted off the complex after a second test confirmed he had contracted the virus.

(2,395 posts)I mean their contention is Covid is the same as the flu and no big deal. So surely the precautions theyre using now to protect trump are no different from those in place for the regular flu, right?

(14,494 posts)Process:
* Preachers and congregants tell all the flock from childhood that god is both a.) to be mortally feared and b.) is a loving, forgiving god.
* Because they all fear god, that allows the preachers and senior congregants to declare anything they damn well please as against god's will. All those potential "sins" vary from year to year and are different at different churches. In my days in the 50s/60s, it was a sin to work on Sunday or drink any alcohol at all or even think about sex. Nowadays, they've added politics and the Prosperity Gospel to the mix, all of which would have been sinful in my day.
* The same process allows them to declare what god's will is for the congregants and what god wants them to do or not do.
* Notice it's always a win/win for them as they can freely use god as an excuse to be for or against anything.
So, it's simply a universal way for a select few adults to totally control all those who go to church AND to blast and demonize anyone who does not. Otherwise, they would be powerless on any issue outside of local, state and federal laws.
KY rant done....

LOL. I can guarantee you he neither wore a mask nor followed social distancing protocols. LOL
This is just what we're hoping for. All the stupid trumpers get together and have a giant lick fest. Cull that species. They're not smart or evolved enough to survive and they should not be reproducing.

Does he also think seatbelt laws and helmet laws are unconstitutional? Speed limit laws, underage drinking, those are OK, right!
What about laws that make sure restaurants are clean and sanitary to guard against eating unsafe food, good or bad as a Constitutional challenge?
The level of stupidity is at Olympic levels.

(7,336 posts)0.03 microns?
KY_EnviroGuy
(14,494 posts)Actual measurements by the Chinese say approximately 50-200 nanometers, or 0.05 to 0.20 microns, so 1/10 micron may be a good average. I've seen various reports on the range but have not seen numbers on particle size distribution.
Those numbers are from: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)30211-7/fulltext
in the section "Discussion".
Keep in mind this is the approximate diameter of the particle itself, not the droplet or aerosols most often discussed relating to airborne spread of this disease. Although virus particles can theoretically be floating in air, that is far less probable than aerosols because particles tend to agglomerate and also tend to attach to water vapor.
Thanks, I'll correct the post to be a bit more accurate........

(27,830 posts)That said, I wish when these naysayers do get it that they'd have a "come to Jesus" moment, and start advising others to take precautions. That part pisses me off.
I put off getting the shingles vaccine because I just wasn't worried about it, all the downtown drugstores were closing and it wasn't convenient, blah blah blah. Guess what? Now I'm suffering through a nasty case of shingles, week six. And I'm telling everyone I know to get the shingles shot, and not make the mistake I did.
I don't see why these idiots can't wake up the same way.
