Tweet comes less than 24 hours after Oklahoma's governor declared campaign event will be 'amazing' and 'safe'

Donald Trump appeared to threaten to order federal and local law enforcement officers rough up any protesters who might show up to object to his planned campaign rally Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
"Any protesters, anarchists, agitators, looters or lowlifes who are going to Oklahoma please understand, you will not be treated like you have been in New York, Seattle, or Minneapolis. It will be a much different scene!" the president tweeted.
Mr Trump, who calls himself "your law-and-order president," doubled down with the tweet on his get-tough approach to protesters and what he and law enforcement officials say are agitators from the political left and right joining the crowds to damage businesses.
. . .
Mr Trump's threatening tweet came less than 24 hours after Oklahoma's governor sat near the president at the White House and declared the Tulsa event will be "safe."

(28,945 posts)Cadet Bonespurs is a bully, a coward and a practitioner of "Let's you and him fight."
Worse, he's one of those monsters who wants to see the world burn.
The protesters should stay the hell away. They won't change any 'minds' and will only give those creeps exactly what they want. Let 'em feed on each other.

(740 posts)then it needs to be a silent one just stand there and show Trump their backs. Show America that Trump is nothing and not worth their time.

(55,019 posts)of course he would claim any crowd as supporters and the fox-watching-fools would believe him.
He'd claim the protesters were terrorists and his "MAGAt followers" need to "deal with them"

(18,964 posts)I'm thinking there may be provocateurs mixed in with the crowd to trigger some sort of confrontation which will lead to physical confrontations between "law and order" and "antifa"...whether real or not...
perception is reality
and to trump perception is EVERYTHING.
look out for right wing instigated violence.

(8,844 posts)as to bet that bunches of Erik Prince's plain clothes mercs will be intermingled in the crowd to do that exact thing.
Planes in the sky, Helicopter gun ships overhead, ground soldiers with bayonets mounted on their assault rifles, hummers with machine gun turrets, sonic devices, microwave devices. Hell, I can believe that we could see anything, after what we have seen already.....
His "March to the Church" should serve as a harbinger of things to come.......we ain't seen nothing yet, and there is still FIVE months to go.......
ANY action, by any protestors, peaceful or not, will be met with absolute and overwhelming physical domination by Trump's gestapo and Storm Troopers.....
You couldn't catch me within a hundred miles of this one. His Trumphumpers, all ginned up to the point of being rabid, foaming at the mouths, infecting everyone there with C19, then Trump provoking them to go after the demonstrators as he has done many times before..........."what could possibly go wrong"......."no one could have expected that violence"...
And best of all, will he declare no cameras or cell phone cameras will be allowed??????????

(9,426 posts)Why risk getting the virus, plus giving tRump an opportunity to play victim again? Let the agitators from Boogaloo go, get pepper sprayed and shot with rubber bullets. Stay home, stay safe. Let people know who the REAL agitators are. Once some of them are arrested and their ties exposed, maybe there will be an awakening about WHO is really to blame for all the destruction. tRump is not worth the effort of travelling to protest. He does not care about anyone but his own bloated, orange self.

(14,494 posts)I would love to see the entire city of Tulsa be supportive of our Constitutional rights and totally boycott this event.
Shuttering every single business in town would be a powerful statement of support of the Constitutional right to peaceful protest. For those tRump supporters that don't believe in Constitutional rights, don't even give them a place to stop and take a piss.
With so many of Tulsa's citizens claiming to be conservative, one would think they would be horrified by this massive waste of taxpayer's dollars and risk to all those lives they think matter, just to give Trump a one-hour spoiled brat feel-good.
In short, Republicans are lying hypocrites.......

(11,885 posts)To draw more media to it, and to use it to incite violence with that he can then get Barr to criminalize them. Media shouldn't attend, and need to ignore this, because that's what he's doing now , playing the media. He's intentionally doing things to escalate the groups against each other with this . He wouldn't have threaten them unless he wanted that to happen. Drumming up attention away from Biden and how he's surging in the polls also. Media should focus on Biden and see what he does , and not mention his rally. He'll explode. Stop giving trump free publicity media.

(22,270 posts)Is there a large open plaza or something a couple of miles away? The mayor is all in on controllng this thing, what with the curfew, routing out the folks who have been camping out since Tuesday at the arena and so on.
Keep the protestors away from the high risk area, and keep it on the lowdown so Erik Prince can't infiltrate it.
If it were happening here, it would probably be at the new Dickie's Arena which is the largest space in town outside of the TCU football field. Protestors could easily take over downtown. Parking is free on weekends there so it's easy to draw a big crowd. We had 8000 for one of the women's marches. All they need is a permit
