Turnout At Trump's Tulsa Rally Was Just Under 6,200-A Fraction Of The Venue's 19,200 Capacity

Source: Forbes.com

TOPLINE While Trump’s rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday was pitched as an over-subscribed event, with Trump campaign staffers touting ticket registrations over a million, the final turnout came to a fraction of the venue’s overall capacity, confirming reports of low turnout that dogged the event.

The Trump campaign set expectations high for the rally, announcing that they had received more than a million ticket requests, despite the venue, the BOK Center, seating just 19,200.

Anticipating high turnout that would exceed that capacity, the campaign planned a second, outdoor speech to address the crowd in the overflow section.

But those hopes quickly evaporated on the evening of the rally, with reporters tweeting photos of the rally showing huge swaths of empty seats in the stadium.

new rally to prove he's still a viable candidate? Or will he hide behind his rage filled tweets, blaming everyone else for his mistakes?

Trump can't risk another low turnout at these rallys. Regardless of the reasons that people choose not attend, another poorly attended event like Tulsa will only make Trump look weaker and ineffective.

If Trump has really fired Pascal then no one is running his campaign. Trump is walking on a tightrope and either way he decides to go his path is fraught with peril and disaster looms ahead.

They are over-hyping the convention already. They are planning nightly rallies, big ticket entertainment (the very best high schools no doubt), and a week plus schedule. All jamn packed.

Should be quite the spectacle..

As usual, they let trump suck all the air out of their program. Parts of his preaching with enhanced crowd response, and then one GOP/trump toady after another given lots of air time to spin and lie. I guess I'm back to just listening to music now that the "news" has reverted back to this culture war nonsense. It's pretty pathetic that we have to look wistfully to the past when the news had something worthwhile to inform about like the pandemic and police brutality.

With them, it's a constant stream of letting trump talk without correction. Same for his henchmen. They are as bad as fox.

Sure, they will try to balance it with a sane pov, but only after 30 minutes of uncorrected lies. That is not balanced reporting. It's propaganda support.

I found myself back to listening to NPR almost all the time because it became interesting and informative again. Sadly, that all changed yesterday. Now it's back to the usual trump nonsense and today was the first day since the lock down that I just turned it off for the day. I still turn it on in the morning but, at the first sound of either trump speaking (especially this) or a GOP politician/operative, off it goes for the remainder of the day.

near a large Federal prison or a military base, where he would have available bodies to fill seats.

A lot of retailers have gone out of business, there must be a lot of unused manikins laying around. The manikins would have better character and sense than the bodies that came out on their own accord.

Many of Trump’s rabid supporters are older and with pre-existing conditions that are dangerous with the virus. But this is a lovely photo with all those blue seats.

No matter how much they lie and brag about the number of people there, many of those folks will likely get COVID. Some campaign staffers had already tested positive so it's in the area.
