She Wanted to Be a Republican President. She's Voting for Biden.

Source: The Atlantic

Republicans who say Donald Trump should lose in November but insist they won’t vote for Joe Biden aren’t being honest, Carly Fiorina argues.

Fiorina was a Republican candidate for president just four years ago, and was briefly Ted Cruz’s prospective running mate. Trump needs to go, she says—and that means she’s voting for Biden.

Fiorina is not going to keep quiet, write in another candidate, or vote third-party. “I’ve been very clear that I can’t support Donald Trump,” she told me, in an interview that can be heard in full on the latest episode of The Ticket. “And elections are binary choices.” She struggled with the decision, and whether to go public. But she said that this struggle is one Republicans need to have—including those who have rationalized supporting Trump despite their disagreements, because of some of his policies or judicial appointments.

“As citizens, our vote is more than a check on a box. You know, it’s a statement about where we want to go, and I think what we need now actually is real leadership that can unify the country,” she said. “I am encouraged that Joe Biden is a person of humility and empathy and character. I think he’s demonstrated that through his life. And I think we need humility and empathy everywhere in public life right now. And I think character counts.”

.... Carly Fiorina has spoken up, and declared she will vote for Joe Biden. She never really was a factor in the 2016 election, but she does have name recognition among republicans, many of which she may have some influence. I did not like her 4 years ago when she was on the other side of the fence, and whatever she does in the future is something I will deal with when the time comes, but right now we need all the support we can get to make sure Joe Biden keeps rolling and gaining momentum. I do hope we see less of the petty bullshit I've seen displayed, and more acceptance of those who now understand, and recognize the mistake they made in 2016.

I also wasn't anything close to a fan of Carly Fiorina, but my opinion was based on policy, not character. By speaking out like this now, she's showing her core good character. I think she's putting country ahead of party, as we should all always be doing.

That unlike that idiot Bolton, she didn't only say she wouldn't vote for trump but she will vote for Biden because it's a binary system. If they are going to write in or go third party they might as well vote for trump.

...a second term of Trump. But he says he won't vote for Biden. There are only two people with a credible chance to win, and he won't vote for the one who isn't Trump. To the extent that he persuades anyone else to think the way he does (to find some other non-Dem to vote for), it means he'd be willing to increase the risk of a second term of Trump--he would rather see the country not survive--before he would vote for Biden.

It doesn't matter that he's saying some things we agree with. This is a case of once an ass, always an ass.

No more. I now sadly realize there is a large pool of outright hate and killing greed and treachery, enabled and pushed by our oligarchs and their equally hate filled, greedy & traitorous representatives - the russian repug party. Now, there are some (a few?) traditionally repug people that have retained some humanity, and those have realized the horror of drumpf and do not support him any longer. For the rest, they are anathema, deplorable is too kind. So sad the pool of Nazis, white supremacists, science deniers and big money criminals & grifters is so large here in this country.

I had cataract surgery yesterday & I can now see 20/16 with my left eye - what an amazing difference. Of course I'm still blind as a bat in my right eye until next Tues. But I'm sitting here, without glasses & see the screen perfectly with my right eye shut. I've worn glasses every second I was awake for over 60 years, so this is just amazing to me.

A couple of weeks ago I had an eye issue. I thought I had gotten something in it because I was doing some sanding, so I used an eye wash. Nothing changed. My son talked me into going to the ER (it was a Friday night), and then I saw an ophthalmologist the next day. I have a vitreous detachment, so I have that floater thing going on. It's mildly annoying sometimes, but I'm ever so grateful for my sight, so I'm not going to complain.

He also told me that I have a slight cataract and slight macular degeneration, so that doesn't make me happy, but I'm still thankful for what I have. I'm definitely a glass half full kind of person.

This is the most important issue that has overshadowed every issue. It began with Nixon and has continued with intensity over the last forty or more years. It has been grasped by the religious zealots who are determined to establish a theocracy and the greed of the plutocrats. It is a simple matter of manifestation of fascism that we have been warned about but continues to be neglected. If you don't believe it is real just consider what is taking place in the Department of Justice. The first causality is the death of justice.
