Bollywood Superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan And Daughter Test Positive For Covid-19 In Quarantine

Husband and fellow Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan confirmed the news on Twitter Sunday. Abhishek and his father, Amitabh Bachchan, also tested positive for the novel coronavirus and are currently hospitalized in India.

"Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive," Abhishek tweeted. "They will be self quarantining at home. The BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful. The rest of the family, including my Mother, have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers."

Rai Bachchan is a former Miss World pageant winner and called "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World" back in 2004. She entered films after a modeling career and has been a Bollywood superstar since her 1997 debut. She also had a brief crossover into Hollywood with 2009's The Pink Panther 2 opposite Steve Martin.

Coronavirus cases in India have now risen to an estimated 850,000 cases, including 28,637 cases reported on Sunday. More than 20,000 people have died in India.

I like Indian movies, drama, passion and all; the characters, story, music and color make it what it is.

It has everything- great music, dancing, terrific actors, tragedy, humor, romance and drama.

I wore out the DVD and soundtrack, learned some dancing steps with Punjabi friends. Great stuff!

If I press 'play' it gives me a weird notice, won't play. Then I click their msg. link which flips me to a YT page to watch. Weird, never has happened until recently Maybe it's the new Microsoft program on this newer device...

where I prefer foreign offerings in movies and TV. I rarely watch American TV except for the news. I love Bollywood movies and enjoy Asian movies and TV series. Much more entertaining, better scripts and plots. I find an excellent selection of foreign entertainment through Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime primarily, but there are other sources as well.

They all live together.

Amitabh's wife tested negative, but so did Aishwarya and her daughter on Saturday. But then they tested on Sunday and both came back positive.

I think Amitabh is 77 yo

LOL... Abhishek is in my signature...from a very funny movie!!

Amitabh is 77 and was in group pictures I located, but I can't c & p photos/images here anymore. Also I tried to post 6 Indian News report videos on YT that he was in; they wouldn't post or play here either which is new and annoying.

I've admired him in films for a while. (*I had to ask someone to post the photo of Aishwarya in the main OP).

~ India is getting hit hard now, I hope he and others cope alright during this scourge.

(Videos of the popular Mira Nair "Monsoon Wedding" won't play here, you get directed to a YouTube page for some reason and that's recent. "Kali" posting above had the same experience).
