Florida reports 9,344 coronavirus infections Sunday, 78 deaths

TAMPA — No daily records were broken in Sunday’s report on the damage the novel coronavirus has wreaked thus far in the state.
From Sunday to Sunday, the state reported 872 new resident deaths, breaking the record for number of fatalities reported in a single week. It also posted a total of 73,808 positive infections and 384,843 people tested.
Still, the numbers of infections and deaths tied to the virus showed little sign of slowing as Florida surpassed New York as the state with the second-highest number of total coronavirus cases, behind California.
In the last 24 hours, Florida’s Department of Health reported 9,344 coronavirus infections and 78 fatalities.

I expect DeSantis will try to fudge the testing outcomes given the current backlog and delays in getting test results, so it will be interesting to see how hospitalizations and deaths fare, since it kind of hard to fudge a hospital that is full.
