When you go online to order your tickets... do you think it will tell you which plant built that particular 787?

The aircraft has a data plate located at the entrance door which will tell the location of final assembly.

It will either say Seattle, or Charleston.

That particular airplane was actually built almost four years ago, as part of the development program. They got final FAA approval in the design in April of 2011, but the design was in development and testing for a long time before that, with multiple test-bed airplanes being built and test flow before the first one was actually FAA approved.

It looks more like the HQ of the company (else it would be a 5th field of data rather than a permanent part of the plate)

But let's ignore that. Are you saying that you're going to buy a ticket and then on boarding the plane you'll check the label and then get off (forfeiting your funds and the ability to show up at your destination on time) ?

They are made in Renton or Everett but not Seattle.

Those workers are human beings too, you know.

I wouldn't start criticizing the 787 for its quality until there is some actual evidence that it's inferior.

But give Sc time...they will watch the speea engineers go out on strike and renegotiate a contract which will leave them wondering...why not us?
