Kamala Harris says Trump not credible on possible COVID-19 vaccine

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic U.S. vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris said she would not take President Donald Trumps word alone on any potential coronavirus vaccine.
In an interview excerpt broadcast by CNN on Saturday, Harris said Trump had a track record of suppressing expert opinion about the coronavirus pandemic and that she worried that might happen again in the case of a prospective vaccine.
I would not trust Donald Trump, Harris said, saying she would be convinced of the efficacy of a vaccine only if someone credible were vouching for it as well. I will not take his word for it.
At least 6.2 million people have been infected in the U.S. coronavirus outbreak, which has taken 187,833 lives, according to a Reuters tally.

Trust health care professionals over Donald Trump? I bet Fox News is going to attack her for being radical and believing elitist scientists, rather than Captain Clorox.

President Donald Trump again suggested that a coronavirus vaccine would probably be available in October, contradicting assessments this week by top health officials who have said it would be very unlikely.
Trump said in a press briefing Friday that there would be a vaccine before the end of the year and maybe even before Nov. 1. I think we can probably have it sometime in October.
The president's remarks came a day after the head of the government's vaccine accelerator, Moncef Slaoui, said that the government was "very unlikely" to greenlight a vaccine by early November, because data from late-stage clinical trials of leading vaccine candidates would not be ready by then.
"There is a very, very low chance that the trials that are running as we speak could read before the end of October, said Slaoui, who heads the government's Operation Warp Speed, told NPR. I think it's extremely unlikely but not impossible, and therefore it's the right thing to do to be prepared in case."

(854 posts)One big example of the many reasons rigorous testing and trials are required for all drugs and vaccines. And even then how many drugs get pulled after this testing because of adverse results/side effects? Probably more than we care to know about.
Maybe Thalidomide explains Trump. Minor physical deformities - small fingers and a mushroom, but major brain deformities. (Would explain a lot...)
Trying to pressure/browbeat manufacturers and corrupt the governing Fed agencies to rush a vaccine out to help his reelection (and you know he will) should be criminal. And probably is. Not that any of that matters a wit to this immoral maroon as long as he gets his way.

When he and his quack-squad force this snake-oil 'miracle' out in late October and sane people refuse it, watch for him and his cultists to scream hypocrisy.
