Biden says he would take COVID-19 vaccine

Source: CBS News

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden nominee said he'd be vaccinated against COVID-19, if there were "a vaccine tomorrow," he said in Pennsylvania Monday.

After a meeting with labor leaders in Lancaster, Biden was asked by CBS News whether he would take a vaccination, if the Trump administration developed one before the election.

"I would want to see what the scientists said," Biden replied. "I want full transparency on the vaccine."

He said of the president, "One of the problems is the way he is playing with politics. He's said so many things that aren't true."

How refreshing. Health care decisions based on facts and science, rather than another attempt hog the spotlight. None of this BS reality TV speak where Trump teases an announcement just before the election in an effort to boost his failure of a Presidency. Of course, if there is no vaccine that is widely available, then Trump will just blame the "deepstate."

Trump says without proof that FDA 'deep state' slowing COVID trials

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday accused members of the “deep state” at the Food and Drug Administration, without providing evidence, of working to slow testing of COVID-19 vaccines until after the November presidential election.

In a Twitter post, Trump said the deep state “or whoever” at the FDA was making it very difficult for drug companies to enroll people in clinical trials to test vaccines and therapies for the novel coronavirus.

The comment came after Reuters exclusively reported on Thursday that a top FDA official said he would resign if the Trump administration approved a vaccine before it was shown to be safe and effective.

“Obviously, they are hoping to delay the answer until after November 3rd. Must focus on speed, and saving lives!” Trump wrote, tagging FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn in the tweet.

however, I do wish he had included the word "proven" in his original statement. But, that is nitpicking.

4. Biden's more trusting than I. No way I would take the word of scientists working under Trump . . .

Wouldn't matter who promoted the transparency of the research, I just can't trust Trump or anyone he has his hooks into.

I understand and appreciate Biden's need to remain as apolitical as possible in discussions about a future vaccine, but I'll wait until I hear from scientists untainted by Trump's maladministration before I trust putting a new vaccine in my body.

Just color me skeptical. There's too much evidence for ETTD. I'd prefer I not be another case in point.

We want a science-based vaccine.
