Ryan Trash-Talks Biden Before Debate
Source: buzzfeed
ROCHESTER, Mich. Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan is playing it cocky before his debate with Vice President Joe Biden this week, engaging in some trash-talk.
"If Mitt told me I'd have to spend three days with Joe Biden... No way." Ryan said at a Pontiac, Mich. fundraiser Monday afternoon. "It's only 90 minutes. So thank you..."
The Wisconsin congressman devoted three days to debate camp last week, and will hold two more days of preparation before they face off in Danville, Ky. on Thursday night.
Joe Biden has dropped off the campaign trail for six straight days to hone his debating skills under the personal tutelage of Obama senior adviser David Axelrod.
UPDATE: A Ryan spokesman emails to say "not cocky at all...it was a joke."

(297,254 posts)Is he going to accuse Biden of stuffing words in his mouth?
WJRT reporter followed up by asking, "And you can do all that by cutting taxes? With a big tax cut?"
"Those are your words, not mine," Ryan responded curtly. His press secretary Michael Steel interrupted from off-camera, "Thank you very much, sir."

Do you honestly believe Biden could win a Presidential election? If so I am not the only "ignorant" one, considering all the other attempts he had failed worse than Bush's economic plans. He is fine for a VP but he wouldn't be my first choice for President. YMMV.
JNelson6563
(28,151 posts)because you are stuck in the paradigm that in order to win 2016 it MUST be the 2012 VP who is the candidate.
Free your mind.

(950 posts)I know its not the only way to win but you have to admit it would make the job a little bit easier if the Presidential candidate for 2016 was part of Obama's team. Look at Reagan and Clinton, Bush I and Gore (if not for the USSC) would have won the election coming off of successful presidencies.
JNelson6563
(28,151 posts)You can take that to the credit union.

(950 posts)we need a strong choice in the VP slot to run in 2016, kind of like bush I rode Reagan's popularity (Bush I would never have won on his own) into the WH. I just don't think Biden will run in 2016 and if he does I don't think he can win. Thats why I want Hillary or another strong candidate to be put in the VP after Obama wins the election. Unlike some here I don't think Obama can lose.

(16,984 posts)In his stump speech, Ryan has been blaming the president and vice president for the housing bubble, and casting himself as the reformer.
Given the fawning attention Ryan got from the media over the past couple of years, anything could happen on Thursday night. But it might not have any big effect in the long run.
