Obama to backers: Be 'almost obsessive' about election

Source: usa today

1:21AM EST October 9. 2012 - President Obama is telling backers to get intense about the election.

"\We're only going to do it if everybody is almost obsessive for the next 29 days," the president told supporters Monday night in San Francisco.

Some observers have questioned how much Obama really wants re-election, given last week's listless debate performance against Mitt Romney.

The president assured donors gathered at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium that "I am pretty competitive and I very much intend to win this election."

And he had some assignments for some of his supporters.

"Most of you have contributed to the campaign, but there is more that you can do over the next 29 days," Obama said. "There's a phone call you can make. There's an e-mail you can send. There is a trip into Nevada you can do to knock on doors. There are cousins and uncles and friends in battleground states all across the country."

This starts with you, sir. When you're faced with the biggest event of your political life and you mail it in, doesn't inspire a whole lot of enthusiasm.

Mr. President I agree with everything you stand for and support you all the way. My only question is why were you not obsessive about your debate performance? I agree it works both ways.

We want a President who acts like a fool = W

We want a President who is a serial liar = GOP

We want a President to yell and scream over a pathological liar while the message is muted = Mittens

No can do in my book. I want a president close to the button that I trust would make that important decision.
I'm charged. Stay at home folks, but please don't complain when things go terribly wrong in this country and the world and please do not blame O for it.

Obama should lead by example. Romney out worked him and out prepared him. No way someone with as poor and illogical a message as Mitt should have been able to win that first debate, let alone trounce our guy. But Obama was way underprepared.

So we'll do our part IF YOU DO YOURS!

no more Gentleman's Quarterly, cut your sophisticated act, and join us in the trenches. You were pathetic last debate, can you really fight with your competitiveness, or is that just with a basketball. Put up or wilt, we will follow your lead.
