Dismembered body identified as that of missing Colorado girl

Source: Reuters

A dismembered body found in a Colorado park has been identified as that of a 10-year-old girl who went missing on her way to school a week ago, police said on Friday.

The remains confirmed to be those of Jessica Ridgeway were discovered on Wednesday about 10 miles from her home in the Denver suburb of Westminster, Colorado.

"Our focus has changed from a search for Jessica to a mission for justice for Jessica," Westminster police chief Lee Birk said at an afternoon press conference.

Jessica Ridgeway vanished last Friday after leaving for school. Police have said the girl's parents were not suspects in their daughter's disappearance, and they were shifting the probe toward an abduction.

Her father, Jeremiah Bryant, lives in Missouri and came to Colorado when he learned his daughter was missing, police said.

it's moments like this where I wish there was an afterlife. No for the killer, but for her to live in peace and for the parents to see her again.

Highly credible scientist/medical dr. relates his experience:

Cher

p.s. regardless of "scientist," "medical dr," "Ivy League calibre," and "mainstream media," some people still won't see it.

And I don't drive away until he is through the front door.

Still, I know bad things can still happen. But you can only do the best you can do to make them safer.

I'm glad her parents can have closure

But there's a child abductor in our community and my heart hurts for all of the kids at her school and how frightened the kids and their parents are now. Just sad knowledge today and hopefully they can find the bastard who did this to her.

I am hopeful that our community is listening to the FBI profiler about changes in behavior in the nutjob that did this.

I am extremely sorry to read that Jessica was the victim of a very sick & demented predator. Crimes against children are the most heinous,

To the family of Jessica I send my most profound condolences and hope the animal that perpetrated this horrific crime is caught very soon.

This person had to cut her up too? I know this person is sick, but I would like a go at him or her. A poor inocent little girl who never hurt anyone. This is so, so sad. I pray they catch this person quickly.

Is a person who does such a thing worthy of capitol punishment? Or are they insane? Both?

I hope the perpetrator is found and sent to maximum security for the rest of "it's" life. That's worse then the death penalty...

no deterrent these days if it ever was. It's the grandest of pulpits. You get this big last say after costing millions just for the fun of it and years of unsettled pain to your victims. When it's over, does anyone actually believe the victims are at peace? I think not.

Life without parole is just one more minute, one more hour, one more month, one more year, one more decade of the same, same, same... and no one listens... then you die.

As the father of a six year old girl, this just sends me reeling.

My heart goes out to the parents and stepparents of this little girl.

The horror of it is too much to hold.
