Recover from what now exactly? I agree Obama needs to change his style a bit for debate #2 but I am still of the opinion the race is Obama's to lose, from the beginning. If there was a proper Traditional Republican running, then Obama should be worried... but the problem is Traditional Republicans are very much in the background, replaced with these New Republicans who seem to be missing a heart.

By now the majority of the country has already decided who they are going to voter for, and the debates, presidential or VP, aren't going to change anyones mind unless one "HUGE" gaff happens, and I don't see that at all. Romny has a lot of problems, his bump from the first debate is dropping, and after Biden did his job, and he did it well, I see the polls going back in favor of the president.

Those who have not decided who to vote for by now are a small number scattered all over the country, not just on one state, and I just can't see them swinging the race one way or the other.

You made the point about the "new republicans" and how there was no proper traditional republican running. The tea party gang has run wild the last two years and I think the traditional republicans decided that they needed to wait till 2016 to run for the WH, when they didn't have to face president Obama, and when they hope the number of the crazy teabaggers has dropped from the ranks of congress. They created the teabagger monster, and now they have to find a way to get rid of that monster. As long as the crazies are in congress, it makes the republicans look a hell of lot worse than they did before the teabaggers came to town.

Waiting in the wings are the more "traditional" candidates, like Jeb Bush, Christie, Thune, and even possibly Ryan. If Romney were to win, then the hopes of the traditional republicans will be gone. Romney would run again in 2016 so they would have to wait if Romney lost till 2020, if Romney won re-election then Ryan would be the nomiee in 2020. I just don't think the powers that be in the republican party want that to happen, they want their "A" team to be there in 2016 so a Romney win is not really what they want. Rove has not been a Bush family flunky for all these years so he could get somebody besides another Bush back in office and that would be Jeb. I could be wrong, but with the circus of "clowns" they had running for the nomination this year, and letting someone that nobody in the party even likes win the nomination, makes me think this way. Only time will tell.

Is Obama's appeals to Republicans to form a bipartisan consensus. As Biden showed so well, the only way to deal with the Rethugs is to take it to them. Only when they're reeling and on the ropes is there a chance of bipartisanship from them.

The Rethugs hate liberals and Democrats and especially despise Obama.

Our President should remember that in these next two debates.
