French Samsonite employees laid off by Bain join Sensata workers at ‘Bainport’ Oct. 13

Source: Rock River Times

FREEPORT, Ill. — French Samsonite workers who were laid off and robbed of their severance pay by Bain Capital will join Freeport Sensata workers for a rally ... in protest of Bain’s decision to close the Freeport, Ill., Sensata Technologies plant and outsource 170 jobs to China. The plant is set to close in November.
...
Sensata Technologies, 2520 S. Walnut Road, Freeport, which was created by Bain Capital in 2006, develops, manufactures, and sells sensors and controls for major auto manufacturers such as Ford and General Motors.

Despite rising profits, the company plans to institute the final layoffs in November. The workers are training their Chinese replacements, who have been flown to Illinois by the company.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is a co-founder of Bain Capital, the private equity investment firm that created Sensata. According to SEC filings, Romney served as CEO of Bain Capital from its founding in 1984 until 2002. Romney, however, has repeatedly said he left the company in 1999.

@CNNnewsroom @NBCNews Romney's BAIN sends jobs of a successful business to CHINA in Nov & closes down the plant 2 days before the election.

2.
@CNNnewsroom @NBCNews Romney stands to personally profit from this deal and YOU don't think this is an important story to report?

Same tweets to the next two. Rinse. Repeat.

All the U.S. media is owned and controlled by five huge corporations. Most of them controlled by the likes of Jack Welch and Rupert Murdoch. That should explain why they're ignoring this. But there's nothing stopping the rest of us from haranguing them about it. At least they'll know WE KNOW.

There's always a chance someone at one of them might find a way around the deliberate media blackout on this and report on it.

Unfortunately, about the only traction Bainport gets is on the ED Show or Rachel Maddow..... It might make for a timely DNC TV ad....What we need do is take it to the newsrooms of CNN, NBC, etc. Scratch NBC, Jack Welch has lots of influence over that newsroom.. Instead of going to Bainport , maybe Bainport should go to the nations ' media centers...

It is the curb-side area directly in front of the two plant entrances where we've located port-a-potties. When the trucks show up to move the plant's equipment to whatever west coast port they plan to ship it from, supporters plan to stay in place, blocking the street for awhile. Just because one of the workers or their supporters might have to "go" doesn't mean we have to go far.

Bain Capital owned Sensata and Samsonite workers standing up with the Freeport Community at Bainport

I'm the fellow to the far left in the back row wearing the blue sweatshirt and blue ball cap.

The camp showed our visiting guests from France a documentary about their plight followed by another regarding Freeport's.

We were expecting 60 people (including our French guests), but got almost twice that from the community to attend. Our tent was simply too small for all of the folks who showed up...and a lot of folks had to listen in from outside the tent while standing in the rain.

If too many people are concerned about what is going on, that's the kind of problem we want.

God bless America!

I really hope the message gets out there to the voters who have not got it through their brain yet,
who the Real Mitt is. Now if the media is really trying to honest with the American people they all
should be covering this!!! Like Right Now!!!! Fingers crossed!!!
