GOOG: Google Stock Plummets After Quarterly Earnings Leak

Source: Reuters

Google stock plunged 8 percent, according to Reuters, after the company's third quarter earnings apparently leaked ahead of schedule on Thursday.

A press release for the earnings report appeared on the Securities and Exchange Commission website with a note that the document was still awaiting a quote from CEO Larry Page.

Google revenues were $11.33 billion for the third quarter of the year, slightly short of the $11.83 billion that was expected, according to Business Insider.

And I prefer the free with ads model over the pay without ads one.

You seem to have quite a bias against the company.

It's getting beyond old and tired. Every single time there's anything remotely negative about Google, Android or Samsung, you can guarantee this poster will not only post it but give some commentary on why they don't deserve to be in the marketplace. Well, some of us like a little competition with our Apples.

I use to visit tech forums quite frequently and started noticing that the same PR points that were being posted by outed Apple reps in the tech forums started to be posted here at DU. Forum members and moderators in a lot of the tech forums don't have much of a tolerance and are vigilant for that kind of thing after a few long time trusted posters who were spreading misinformation were proved to be working for a company called Nvidia. That being said, this isn't a tech forum and I don't expect the moderators here to be as heavy handed in banning suspect company reps.
Readers at DU need to be very cynical when getting information about tech company's or tech products , their PR reps are out in droves. He may just be a huge Apple fan but when he repeats the same thing such as "Ad spamming data spy" in multiple threads and comes up with a new phrase that he spams in his pro Apple threads every week, it send a big red flag up in my mind.

I think you raise a very important and valid point. It says something when you know who a post is authored by before you even click on the link. I understand that there are people who really love their brand of products but what is the point in damning other companies to make your brand of choice seem greater? I use both Apple and Google so I have no dog in the fight.

You know the end is near when you go to Google scholar to look up the science report behind something you read on an an Internet forum using these keywords, "triclosan muscle function" (without the quotes) and the second result is a Fox News item.

The so-called "science report" Scholar references even has dialog in it, he said, she said! That's the first science report written by scientists that I've ever read that follows that writing style!

It's time to sell, it may be too late already!
