Massachusetts GOP Group pays homeless blacks to campaign for Republicans
Source: Atlanta daily world
A group of Black supporters under the moniker Obama Supporters For Brown are campaigning in Boston for U.S. Senator Scott Brown, a White Republican candidate who is in a tight Senate race in Massachusetts against his Democratic challenger, Elizabeth Warren.
However, this band of Black folks are working for a small fee, the Boston Herald reports.
Homeless people and others are being paid a per diem of $8 per hour to wear T-shirts in areas that are considered Warren strongholds. Benjamin Thompson, a former Boston city employee, is running Obama Supporters For Brown out of a storefront in the city.
The states GOP MassVictory program is paying for the effort. The per diem is suppose to pay for child care and other costs, works out to roughly $8 an hour, the Globe quotes Thompson as saying.

I could go on and on. It is amazing to me that these Republicans politicians can say and do such stupid things, yet still be running competitive races. Who is more stupid: the Republican politicians or Americans who still will back them?

(55,445 posts)Bob Ehrlich's people did this in Maryland in '02; promising $$$ per page of either voter regs or petition signatures (which was of course illegal) and true to GOP fashion, they reneged on their promise to pay up (or even to give the homeless FOOD) when their work was finished...
Of course by the time it came to trial Ehrlich was already in office for a year, and the dirty trickster couldn't be linked to the campaign since he was an "non-official, outside consultant/volunteer" (wink-wink...Funny how often that is the case), and since it was his word against a few homeless, he got off the hook...
