McCaskill +4, Nixon +8, Romney +8 in Missouri: PPP
Source: Kansas City Star
Public Policy Polling says Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill hold a narrow 4-point lead over Rep. Todd Akin in the 2012 campaign's closing days.
She's at 48%, Akin at 44% in a poll of 835 likely voters Nov. 2 and Nov. 3. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.4%.
"Akin's image isn't getting any better," the pollsters write. "He now has a 29% favorability rating with 56% of voters rating him unfavorably, the worst numbers we've found for him to date.
"Nevertheless Republicans are starting to unify around him a little bit more as the election approaches- he's gone from getting 74% of his party vote on our last poll to now 79%."

(18,652 posts)She got away from the stoopidity that goes on in MO. That Akin is even that close to McCaskill is very telling about low info voters there.
this clown wins, Missouri. you will have shown me. Nothing but ignorance and stupidity. Period. Any state that votes to keep these racist, sexist, homophobic reactionary assholes, male and female, bachshit comes to mind, in office shows me what they want to do with all not like them.

(1,231 posts)Sheesh. For a state that gave us Senator and President Harry S. Truman, who forced the US military to integrate, among other progressive actions (yeah, yeah, nitpickers, I know Youngstown v. Sawyer)...I don't know what to say. I hope Claire McC says prayers of thanks for Todd Akin everyday, for I suspect the good folks of MO would have otherwise given the "little lady" the boot, just like Robin Carnahan (Roy Blunt?? really Missouri???). Only middle-aged white men need apply, regardless of party.

This dork Akin shouldn't be polling in double digits. It takes an astonishing stoopid to be supporting him.

(6 posts)I just saw a local poll THIS MORNING that has McCaskill up 12 points. I believe it too. Missouri is kind of known for splitting tickets. Nixon will win, so will McCaskill - but Romney will take the state.

(2,606 posts)When I moved away, no restaraunt served sweet tea or grits, you can find them now. So MO is now trying to compete with AL and MS for racism and stupidity. I used to work for the MO DNR and DNR's environmental employees are 50th in the nation in pay. Go MO!!!
Maybe it is local mythology, but I used to hear that MO was second only to GA in clan activity and the "militias" are a big deal here.
