Report: Christie turned down Romney rally request
Source: politico
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was effusive in his praise of President Barack Obama when the two leaders toured damage from Hurricane Sandy last week, turned down a request by Mitt Romney to appear with him at a rally on Sunday night in Pennsylvania, The Huffington Post has learned.
The Romney rally was held at a farm in Morrisville, Pa., not more than 20 minutes from Trenton, the New Jersey capital. The physical proximity of the event to New Jersey only added to questions in the Romney campaign about why Christie chose not to come.
You cant tell me he couldnt have gone over there for a night rally, a Romney campaign source told HuffPost.

(53,661 posts)Maybe Christie will come back from the dark side and join us. I'd welcome anyone who is sincere or had a change of heart. Obama has always represented everyone. Everyone. Guess it's starting to rub off. Good stuff.

(53,661 posts)I really don't know Christie, other than he appears to be an extremely immature loudmouth. In every news conference I saw him in during this event, he seems to always direct the conversation back to himself, with a lot of anxiety, as if he's trying to make people like or respect him.
He is certainly not the quality of man that Obama clearly is, in any way. But he may have been humbled that the same man he bloviated against in such an ignorant and crass manner on the stage in Tampa, is willing to work for the good of the people and now himself, unlike Romney.
Obama said something that I doubt many Republicans could honestly say:
Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.
That defines most Republicans and Libertarians to me. All about the money, themselves and nothing larger than that. Taking care of yourself and not being a burden is normal, but you cannot be fulfilled by just that. You have to reach higher. Being around someone like Obama can be an illuminating experience.

(35 posts)Would not be surprised if this happens to Christie. There is a joke somewhere about Crist-Christie-Christ, just too early to come up with it.
