They had made great democratic reforms as a result of the founding of the republic in the 1920's one major one was separation of church and state and other secular reforms. It seems they have been gradually moving back to a religious state, in action if not in name.

In Istanbul, they're pretty liberal. I ran into atheists, and know couples living together out of wedlock. Women wear miniskirts and I suspect the majority of medical students are female.

But go east, toward the Syrian border, and things get conservative.

I'm all for this. Netanyahu most not drive the Policy. The same case with Hamas. Both of them need to be put on a leash until the adults that matter make the decisions. As far as our Senate, they need to take advice from the President for their consent and not hamper our President to make Foreign Policy issues in our best Interests as well as all the participants. The Congress submits that they represent the Public but who the hell do they think the President represents here! The President should remind them Foreign Policy was also discussed in this election, and the country also decided on the direction of our Foreign Policy. The Congress therefore should help the President all they can and not be trying to undermine what the President was elected to do.

If Israel invades with ground forces, a lot more will die.

So far the dead in Gaza have been mostly Hamas members.

If a ground assault takes place it will no longer be the case because terrorists are cowards... they use civilians as shields.

The dead in Gaza include civilians, including children.

Gaza City is a massive urban area. People who attack cities from the air are war criminals.

sounds about right. one person says its all the Israelis fault, the other the palestinians. seems we've already taken stances on this issue and no ones changing sides. this shit stinks and its the same smell every time a rocket launches. both sides see deaths and its both sides faults for starting it.
