Lieberman: No Talks Of Working In The Administration After I Retire

Source: TPM

SAHIL KAPUR 10:03 AM EST, SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2012

Retiring Sen. Joe Liberman (I-CT) said he doesn't expect to work in the Obama administration after retiring.

On "Fox News Sunday," he said there have been "no talks" of him working at the State Department, Defense Department or CIA, and that it's "not what I'm planning for the next chapter of my life."

He added that if he's offered a top role, "you've got to give it serious consideration," but "I'm not waiting by the phone -- I don't expect a call."

I have never forgiven Gore. I wish Clinton would have picked someone else.
(other than Gore) for VP.
But, I've always felt that Bill and Hilary were blue dogs. Gore was a blue dog
and f'n Lieberman was a RW republican.

In 2009, Lieberman is opposed to a "public option" and stated he would side with Republicans and filibuster any attempt to pass major health legislation that includes one. Lieberman confirmed on December 13, 2009 he will not vote for the Senate Health care bill in its current form, reportedly informing Majority Leader Harry Reid directly that he would filibuster any attempt to pass health care with a public option or an expansion of Medicare coverage

And he, Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln, and Max Baucus ensured that neither "single payer" nor a "Public Option" would be in the ACA, and they joined the filibuster by the rethugs.

Yet many DUers blamed Obama for either not being there.

He never called any of them. Never lobbied them. Never lifted a finger to try to sway them in any way. Joe explained he never heard anything from the White House. But when Obama wanted to pass the bill that the Senate was shoving down the House's throat, Obama got on a plane and flew to Dennis Kucinich's district and campaigned for it, openly challenging Dennis in his own district to vote for it.

Ask the guy to join up, his nose still brown from campaigning against you for the election in 2008, destroying a good democrat in Ned Lamont, bringing down the 2008 campaign, and jumping on the Impeachment train for Clinton.

Socially? He's a pariah. One of the extra bits of icing with sprinkles in this election is that he won't be back with his droopy-dog self.

to get credibility with a particular group. All Right Wingers trying to infiltrate the Dem party will use social issues to gain support. It's an old trick. They don't really care about those issues one way or the other. Lieberman's goals are the same goals as the warmongering Neo Cons.

He is a threat to world peace along with all his Right Wing Buddies around the globe.

He also betrayed the party he belonged to. No one likes a traitor. No one trusts a traitor.

Serious question. I had no idea who he was prior to Gore's nomination, but I understood he was to counterbalance Gore's "most liberal senator" reputation. Since then, everything I have read indicates that he identified with the wrong party. Until he didn't.

Making a lot of noise about turning down a job that you haven't been and won't be offered. Sounds like bullshit to me...the bullshit of someone desperate for a last little bit of face time for the cameras. It's not as though Lieberman will be one of America's elder statesmen, respected party voices, or people whose opinion is sought.

In fact, you old nasty sack of walking fertilizer, I hope your wait is every bit as comfortable as the wait people have when they are sick and have no insurance and have to go to the ER or when they sit at home untreated and wait to get better. Maybe you'll even die while waiting just like some of them do...
